Hampton Inn Carefree

This is a great location but that is the only thing great about it. I stayed there this past week. The shower had hair in it. I couldn’t get the hot water to come on in the sink. I called the front desk and their response was it sometimes takes 5 min and turn the shower on hot to get it going. Also there was not a hair dryer in the room. The walls and floor are very thin. I got in and out of there as quick as possible. Just slept. No shower. It is really a shame because it is a newer hotel.

Right on town circle a hundred feet from great restaurants. Beautiful views. Quiet. Breakfast as expected. They did have pancakes already made which was a first for me. They have a wine and beer bar open at night also a first for me. Large conference room had a party the night we were there. Enough outlets and charging plugs at the bed. I'd go out of my way to stay here again because of the fun dinner we had across the street and the great views.

This place will be the cheapest option in the area. Front desk check in was friendly. Had issues with the door to my room. Rekeyed but still wouldnt open. Manager came open pulled hard on the door and cranked the handle which opened the door. He said sometimes the doors dont close all the way and lock. (Indeed, after coming back from dinner was able to push the door open without key.) Beds were comfortable but could hear my neighbor's TV who started watching very early in the morning. After check out, ended up leaving my phone charger in the room. Obviously it's common occurrence but when I called to see if they had found it (twice) The snippy front desk person told me she was "aware of my situation" but they had not found it. No great loss but did not appreciate the attitude.

While I'm not one to wax poetic about hotels, I have to say that my experience here was genuinely positive and worth sharing. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is ideal, right in the heart of Carefree and within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and some stunning desert scenery. I managed to squeeze in a few short hikes during my downtime, and the views were breathtaking. My room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed, and the bed was extremely comfortable. I also appreciated the hotel's commitment to sustainability—no single-use items cluttering up the bathroom! The complimentary breakfast was a highlight, with a variety of hot and cold options to satisfy any morning craving. The coffee was strong, and the waffles were perfectly crispy – what more could you ask for? I didn't get a chance to use the pool or hot tub, but they looked clean and inviting. The outdoor fire pit area was a nice touch, perfect for relaxing in the evenings. Overall, I had a very enjoyable stay at the Hampton Inn Carefree, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

My wife and I stayed at this property recently as we were in the area for an art show. The location is perfect if you want to be in the Carefree area and the rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfast was on par for a Hampton Inn. Plenty of hot water and reasonable pressure in the shower. With all this said they had an issue with their security system at check-in which required me to make four trips back and forth to the room before convincing them there was an issue (and it wasn’t me). You could literally walk right into the room, but you couldn’t lock it to leave. Ultimately, we got the manager involved and he was able to resolve it quickly. My counsel to the hotel/front desk is if someone returns multiple times with card key issues do not assume the issue is the person as that is very frustrating for the hotel guest.
